I did it!!!

I am so excited. I am back in control once again of my blog. Now I am nervous that I won't be able to reconnect with my new one. I really new to better organize all my logins and passwords. Hopefully I can come up with a more creative system!

Monster In My Closet!

There it was again, the grunting and scratching on my closet door! It was the same sound every night for the past week. Even though I had never had the courage to open the closet door before, I had promised myself that the next time it happened, I would face the monster! But could I? My heart was racing and the sweat was pouring from my forehead. I slowly crept to the door of my closet and placed my sweaty, shaky hand on the door knob. I quickly flung the closet door open and was immediately confronted with my nightmare-----the monster in the closet! He wasn’t quite what I expected as he was very skinny but also very tall. I dodged quickly behind my favorite stuffed animals just as he strode on his long skinny legs into my sanctuary, my bedroom! The monster wore bright, yellow shorts and a bright pink shirt, both of which were tattered and torn. Even though he was very skinny, the monster moved with very heavy steps that made my little toy cars roll off my dresser. As he made his way around my dark and shadowy room, I noticed in horror that his head could turn in a complete circle. As his head slowly swiveled around, I could hear his grunts and snarls. His breathing was heavy, like he had a bad cold. His skin was green with scales, and from across the room I could smell his terrible breath. I could tell he was in search of something by the glow of his orange eyes. With great despair, I felt the pit of my stomach turn with anxiety, fearing that I was his next prey. His pointy ears on the top of his head reminded me of an inquisitive dog but his huge triangle teeth that protruded from his mouth reminded me of a big bad wolf. As he came closer to my hiding spot, I could see that his body was slimy and scaly, with green ooze trailing behind him on the floor. As he got closer and closer to my hiding place, the awful smell grew stronger, and I thought I recognized it as the scent of death. The moment his fiery, orange eyes locked on my pale face, I knew he had found me! As he thrashed my favorite stuffed animals around the room, I felt the heat from his smelly hot breath and noticed for the first time the scars on his face. And then the screaming match began. Both of us were wailing as loud as we could in hopes of taking the other one down with our blood curdling screams. Then in the midst of the battle with the monster, I felt him take hold of my fragile, little body and violently shake it. After seemingly long moments of shaking had passed, I heard the familiar and soothing voice of my parents. I woke abruptly while sitting on the floor of my closet amongst my animals. Then I realized that for an entire week, the monster in my closet had actually just been a wild and vivid nightmare. No longer do I fear that monster because my parents chased him out of my house for good!
